Panasonic launches 2 Toughpads in India with Windows 8, Android


Panasonic India unveiled four new mobile computing devices aimed at business users in India. The devices launched were Toughpad FZ-G1, the world’s first Windows 8 enterprise-grade ruggedized tablet,  ToughpadJT-B1, a seven-inch Android tablet and two personal computers Toughbook JT-H300HT and Toughbook JT-H320HT.
Speaking on the launch Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India, said, “Having done extremely well in the consumer business, Panasonic India now has a renewed focus on the B2B and B2G business. Today’s launch of mobile computing devices is a significant stepping stone towards our aim of doubling the contribution of B2B segment to Panasonic’s overall revenue by 2015.”
Here are some key features of the tablets:

Toughpad FZ-G1: This comes with Windows 8 Pro 64-bit with Windows 7 downgrade option available. It has a third-generation Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 2.9Ghz. It has a 10.1-inch HD screen that offers support for 10-finger multitouch. The tablet is all-weather dust and water-resistant and can survive a 4 feet drop. It is priced at Rs 1,75,000.
Toughpad JT-B1: A 7-inch display Android tablet with a 1.5GHz Texas Instruments OMAP4460 processor and runs Android 4.0. This is also water and dust resistant and can survive a five feet drop. The device has 16GB flash space and 1GB RAM. This is priced at Rs 69,000 plus taxes.
Panasonic also launched JT-H300 and JT-H320HT handheld computers that are based on Panasonic’s total Shock Absorbing design.”
