NEW YORK — Microsoft is launching two of its most important products to date: Windows 8 and Surface. The company is hosting its Windows 8 coming-out party and a Surface tablet reception on Thursday at Pier 57 in New York City, and Wired is here to deliver the excitement as it happens.
A year after its introduction, Microsoft is finally ready to launch the Windows 8 operating system this Friday, Oct. 26. To celebrate, the company is making a big show of the product launch, taking over NYC’s Times Square and hosting an almost all-day event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Thursday.
The blow by blow of the Windows 8 keynote, expected to be delivered by CEO Steve Ballmer, Windows President Steven Sinofsky, and other Windows and Surface execs.
