LONDON: Samsung has confirmed that it is working on a smart watch of its own to take on tech giant Apple's iWatch.
The news comes after months of rumours that the South Korean firm has been working on a wrist-worn rival to supposedly-upcoming iWatch. VP Lee Young Hee told Bloomberg that the firm had been preparing the watch product 'for so long'.
The firm is preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them, he added. According to Techradar, he didn't give any details about what the wristwatch.
Lee said that 'the issue here is who will first commercialise it so consumers can use it meaningfully,' the report added
